We’ve had this discussion before...

...it’s bad form to stand in your breakfast dish!

I was happy to see the cardinals return today in force. They’d been missing for most of the winter so far. In fact the overall numbers of birds at our feeders have been down, so I’ve been concerned. Today, though, was reassuring. Also, our resident red shouldered hawk was busy hunting today, and this did not deter the cardinals, chickadees, sparrows, purple finches, or downies, so there’s an end to that theory.
