Bob Marley's 75th Earthday celebration
Jeremy C. invited us to the launch of his new book celebrating the world of Bob Marley. Fittingly he held it in the gallery of Lansdown Hall, where for many years he lead the arts trust, which rents it from the town council, who had just purchased the building to save it from ruin. At the same time I lead the town council working group overseeing the regeneration of Lansdown Hall and this gallery, which was the first part of the building to be renovated.
Jeremy loves Jamaican music, especially early reggae, and he worked for Bob Marley's manager for many years, and collected wonderful memorabilia. His book collates that world wonderfully and the exhibition has just a few of the artifacts. One of his prize possessions is an original 'Sound System', (he has several), and on Saturday he will be using it upstairs in the Hall for a night of celebration called 'Tip-a-Tone' is coming your way!'
My great friend Pip came to join us and stay the night before heading home to Bristol. It was wonderful to see him and catch up after too long.
