Male Tufted Duck

The birdwatching group went to Ellesmere this morning. It was lovely to see the sunshine and the frost thawed during our time there.

The highlights of our morning were nuthatch, tree creeper, and a pair of goldeneye. There were a number of male tufted ducks on The Mere but we didn't spot any females with them so perhaps they haven't paired up  yet - the blue tits certainly had.
