Royal Spoonbill
I must have been tired as I slept through until just after 9.00 :) The good thing though was that the SUN had returned and suddenly everything looked light and bright and felt warm. As I looked around the park I noted that many people had bits and pieces of clothing hanging out of windows, hung off wing mirrors or draped across bodywork. I did the same and it certainly did the trick with most of my stuff mostly dry before I left an hour later.
Did a quick trip into town where I felt compelled to buy Elton's new book (his autobiography) as well as topping up the fuel. Then it was a case of pointing the van north and driving..........
Had a stop not far out of the city to buy some milk and have my morning coffee and was surprised to find myself feeling tired. A lie down turned into an hour and a half snooze........Oh boy - I didn't realise I was that tired!
Took the scenic route to Karitane then just a few kms further on to Waikouaiti campground........laundry done, BBQ tea, nice long chat to big sis, T..........ahhhhhhh.....back to the good, relaxed, fair-weather kind of vanning I enjoy. All in all, a very nice birthday indeed :)
