Extremes...

We have had had weeks of very hot dry weather, the forests are tinder dry and the grass is no longer green.  Meanwhile the south of the South Island is currently experiencing their worst flooding ever, towns evacuated and trampers and tourists airlifted to safety. Very scary! This is summer!
