Newhailes

A day when each of us had separate things going on and we wove in and out of each other's company getting various things done. Fiona, Charlie and I managed to squeeze in a walk round the grounds of Newhailes, conveniently situated en route to Edinburgh Fort.

Newhailes is apparently a neo-Palladian villa. You can read all about it on the NTS website if you like. The house itself is great. Look at the shades in the plasterwork when damp. I love how this place, for all its grandeur, actually looks a bit shabby. The grounds are also great; a bit wild - overgrown - with a fantastic ha ha.
