SPRING CLEAN

A Lucky Day . . . my back is improving and so M and I set off for Goathland to see the Bridge Works . . . then on to Grosmont . . . where we were rewarded with a personal tour of the NYMR Locomotive Works by Andrew . . . AKA Bungle . . . so look for him on the new TV series to come.

The famous 20 metre long, 84 tonne single span Bridge 27 carries the 180-year-old railway over the Eller Beck at Goathland Station. Famous because it is the iconic track leading to Hogsmeade Station, where the young wizards embarked for Hogwarts in the Harry Potter Movie The Philosopher’s Stone. Work is being undertaken by Cleveland Bridge UK, from The Boro and builders of the Sydney Harbour Bridge.
