Erith

This is the pier at Erith on the Thames estuary.
In the distance you can clearly see the Dartford crossing. We did the first stage of a walk known as the London Loop with a friend. This took us from Erith to Bexley - around 9 miles. It was a pleasant walk with varying surroundings. In today's first extra is a panoramic shot across the estuary taken from approximately the same spot. The large green hill on the other side of the water is, in fact, a landfill site that has been grassed over.
The second extra was taken further round alongside the River Darent which flows into the estuary.
