Rosie

We went to a Super Bowl party at our friend's house yesterday. They have a 26 year old African Grey Parrot named "Rosie". They bought her as a chick. She has over 200 words and phrases that she knows how to say, but the funniest thing is that they come out in the context that is appropriate to the activity you are doing. When Gary gets out the griddle, she yells "pancakes". When you come by her cage and she wants out she says "get me outta here".

Quite entertaining in and of herself, and we all get a lot of joy just seeing what she will come up with. These birds live to be 75 years old or so, requiring for most of us that you make provision for the bird if something happens to you.

I have been off blipfoto for awhile, but am making a return! Got some kind of bug that made me not very interested in going out to take photos. In 9 days we are on a trip to Israel, so will likely back blip from some of that adventure.
