Barely visible through the gloom of a seriously chilly afternoon, the hills of Arran looked somehow larger and more menacing with their covering of snow. This photo was taken from the Ardyne, where we were sheltered from the easterly wind, but it was strong on our faces as we walked back to Toward school where we had left the car.
