Thought the above was a better option than the attempt to make a loaf of wholemeal spelt bread. It's edible, with an interesting flavour, but not in any way attractive. Next time I'll try using some fresher yeast than what was in the house, and way, way past the use before date. Perhaps then the mix will rise. Knew before bunging it in the oven that was the issue, as it had barely increased in volume during the proving stages. Hadn't attempted making bread at home before. Will try again another weekend.
