Inside the Circus

We've had a fun day out in London. We headed first for a Hidden London tour of parts of the original Piccadilly Circus station from the early 1900s. This was the original station built before the "big circle" under the roundabout that we'd all recognise. As usual with these tours, it was great to go behind some of the not for public access doorways and into a world beyond. We visited tunnels, escalator shafts and stairways all normally out of reach. Although the tunnels have been put to a variety of uses today, the fact they carry beautifully tiled walls and signage all points to their more public profile in the distant past.

After the tour we walked down the North bank of the Thames and watched the sunset before getting the DLR and heading for our evening destination, the O2. We watched a great show by the Kaiser Chiefs. We've seen them many times before and they are always good to yell along to!

A few extras of the day.
