Fading into dusk
Dusk is descending - yes, the days are definitely growing longer now. You can just about make out the snowclad shape of the Applecross Forest on the horizon, 60 miles away. Forest, you ask? Not a tree to be seen over there. It is a deerforest, and they commonly are treeless. The Applecross Forest rises to more than 2,000 feet above sealevel, which is why you can see them at this distance.
