Cross stitch

It has been snowing steadily all day and the paths that Normous so laboriously cleared yesterday have a couple of inches again. Today's family birthday party was cancelled yesterday, just before I started to bake a birthday cake. Good timing.

So a hunt round the house for an indoor blip and I chose this picture which is the very first cross stitch kit I completed, in 1966! I was living in a community where there were a lot of Dutch women and they introduced me to cross stitch, in particular the beautiful Clara Weaver designs. I've been cross stitching ever since and have branched out into more complicated embroidery from time to time.
