Bad start

Woken by the smoke alarm at 6.15am, but no sign of smoke. Threw switch in mains box and tried to remove lid of alarm to replace battery. Couldn't. Alarm going off at intervals, activating the other four in the house. Noise unbearable. In desperation searched Yell and found 24 hour electrician. This saint arrived through the snow and saved the situation. Here is the new silent one installed. Ears still ringing and nerves shot.
