Tenacious
I walked down into town today to "run a few errands" as they say, and happened to spot this display in the Tourist Information Centre. It made me laugh as Mr A Jnr always says he doesn't want any cushions now he's got his own place...so I sent him the snap as a joke. But...he actually liked it! Said it reminded him of home. Bless him.
Other than that, I did go out to Twin Larder in Ash, to top up our coffee supply and get a few more zero waste items to try, taking along my own containers for the goodies. It was encouragingly busy in there, with one silver-haired chap saying (fondly) that it reminded him of shopping in the 50's.
Anyway, I also went along to the big Sainsbury's store in Farnham for the purpose of buying a non-slip shower/bath mat. You see, since we've had a water softener, I normally take baths for all my daily ablutions...but last week I tried a shower in an attempt to speed up my morning routine, but nearly went A-over-T when I rinsed my hair conditioner under the shower while attempting to stand upright. It was not easy, let me tell you, and I had to resort to holding onto the chrome plumbing to stay vaguely vertical. So, I figured I wouldn't try that little exercise again until I got myself a non-slip mat!
My extra snap caught my eye...a little cluster of crocus plants tenaciously clinging to life in the tiny channel of dirt by the kerbstone opposite our house.
