Hafen City Walk
After a late breakfast we met with Svenni, Christian and their spaniel Nelly at the Hafen City district. We took the new underground line 4 there. The station is as sleek and modern as this part of the city. The staircase reminds me of a metropolitan city like NY - usually things are smaller in Hamburg.
We walked along the Marc O'Polo Terrassen to the big construction site of the Elbphilharmonie, our supposedly new landmark. A gigantic classical concert hall for more than 2000 people . It was supposed to open in 2010, now it is scheduled to open 2017! Heavenly planned with tax money.
You can visit the construction site on Sundays. Bookings for April start February 1 and are usually booked out for the month in one day. Oli, Svenni and I want to give it a try to book it for April.
It was so cold outside! We enjoyed meeting with our friends and are now content to stay inside. A perfect Sunday.
