Night work

After camping out last week in search of Blue Petrels we had another dose of night work when we went up Gazella, the hill behind base, in search of South Georgian Diving Petrels.

These tiny birds only come out of their burrows when dark to avoid their predators, mainly the skuas. This was taken at about 1am when the sun had completely dropped and the bright moon was covered by clouds.
