Bleakness

Today the landscape was bleak. It might not have been midwinter but there was a darkness in the day that loomed over us as we walked along the old railway line. I climbed up at the end and captured this view of old storage sheds in the next field. Local rumour has it that they were used to store ammunitions during the war but those rumours also extend to some of the old mining shafts that are in the forest nearby. Who knows for sure? But I already felt the weight of the snow that is supposed to come and swathe the Borders overnight.
