Through an open gate

January seems to have gone by very quickly.

Is that because many days seem the same ?

The routines around helping caring for Mum do vary little but that is only part of each day.  The weather has been mostly grey clouds and often the only brightness is at the end of the day - a slit of light under the clouds.

Any fresh air is a bonus and a good photo an extra boost .... no good photos today just this strange effort taken on Padfield Main Road. 

I walked down the lane I used to walk with Dad - even when he was very elderly with poor eyesight he still got a lift from seeing the hills or perhaps he was just imagining them. It did take some imagination today as they were cloud covered in the other direction.

The lane is called Summerhouse Lane but I  think it should be renamed Dogtoilet Road -  It was the worst I have ever seen it.  Its single track tarmac and the problem is the grass verge if  car comes then stepping off the road would be a mucky business.

We just watched a recording of the Great British Year (Winter) rather than Winterwatch ... sorry but I do wonder if Springwatch etc. has had its day they really need new formats or just go back to the one that worked
