Adiós, Amigos

No, I’m not planning to leave any time soon!

I just wish the same could be said for the country.

Brexit Day dawned with some ominous clouds over Liverpool’s Baltic Triangle - and I fear there’ll be plenty more stormy skies to come over the next 5 years, or longer, as we come to terms with this ill-judged turn of events.

I’m in no mood to celebrate tonight.

The sticker on the lamp post in this picture is part of the marketing campaign for Liverpool musical legend Michael Head’s 2017 album of the same name. Like Michael himself (The Pale Fountains, Shack, The Strands, and now The Red Elastic Band) it’s amazingly resilient! It certainly seemed appropriate for today.

We may be saying goodbye for now but I genuinely hope it won’t be too long before we’re back with our European friends again.
