'Motherwell'

An astonishing account of the childhood of the now sadly departed Deborah Orr and her upbringing in the town of the title. I had a real interest in this book because I always read her columns and articles in The Independent, The Guardian and latterly in the 'i'. Also, I lived in Blantyre during the  early1970's and my best friend lived in a multi-storey in Motherwell, quite close to where she lived at the time. She also went on to the same university as I did, St. Andrews, so it was very interesting to read her views on it. Not an easy read regarding her relationships with her parents.
