A Very French Evening

Today was so very unproductive. I woke up late for a Skype date and was thus a little bit in trouble! Wasn't helped by the fact that I didn't really want to be awake at all even if it was already late in the morning! All was sorted out by a crossword though.

After that I didn't do much until Laura and I went out to by a birthday present for our neighbour who will be 5 tomorrow. I decided to take a walk the longway home as I needed the exercise. It was muddy and icy and cold, and actually really nice. Saw another icy fountain, think I'm getting obsessed. Bumped into Shadi on the way home and had a good chat.

On the way back I went into the boulangerie and the woman behind the counter, with whom I talked yesterday, told me that she'd thought of me when she heard that it snowed in England. I was inexplicably pleased. I had to, therefore, by a celebratory pain-au-chocolat which will be tomorrow's breakfast. Chatted with this lady, and another man who was in the bakery for a while.

Got home and had a long bath, well, it would have been a long bath only Laura invited me over to Ludovic and Elsa's so I was then in a bit of a rush. Had a great evening, we ate fois gras, and gratin, and a classic French film - 'La Pere Noel est un ordure'. Can't say I was a fan, a bit too slapstick for my liking. I very much enjoyed how funny Ludovic found it though. You could tell he'd watched it far too many times, he laughed before the jokes were even told!
