Tommy

Not a sparkling day. Grey but dry after heavy overnight rain. A walk out to the Kirkyard to put some snowdrops on CMC's Mum's grave.

We met in with Tommy who has had his own Croft at Selwick for many years. He will soon be 80. He stays at the end of a long track, hence his company car.

Sawed plenty of wood for the stove and chopped kindlers too. Early evening and CMC and me are stoveside reading, knitting and laughing. Pre-prandial Springbank.

It's great being in Hoy to detox from TSR2, wondering whether Reginald Maudling has heated up the economy and fretting about the price of hoola-hoops.

No-one should be encouraged, least of all pianists.
