The Duchess of Hamilton

We are in York to celebrate Mrs "Dog’s" 70th Birthday with wine, food and some singing. She chose York because she was born in Yorkshire, although most of these years have been spent in Scotland.

Some relatives and friends live in Scotland and some live in the south of England.

We travelled by train drinking champagne and nibbles made by Pat. We know how to enjoy ourselves.

After checking into what proved to a slightly bizarre hotel we ventured out for a wonderful evening meal in an Italian Restaurant.

While the female contingent chose to go hunting chocolate experiences, the rest of us rediscovered the delights of the National Railway Museum.

It was there that I came face to face with the Duchess of Hamilton.

I also discovered that I know far more about the Railway Museum exhibits than anyone else, and so I became the fount of all knowledge or a geek.

My only redemption is that I was never a train spotter.

We met later for Champagne and Birthday Cake before walking through York for a French restaurant.
