Penshaw Monument

You have to be keen to drive up to Gateshead on a Tuesday evening in January to watch Chester. I’m estimating it will be around 2am when I get home.

After picking up Rick in Didsbury we had three geocaching stops before wandering around Newcastle and stopping at another one of my favourite pubs the Bridge Tavern under the Tyne Bridge.

Our first stop was the Penshaw Monument near Sunderland. I have seen this from afar on many occasions so it was interesting to finally walk to the top where there are very good views.
