Lost In A Book

I am complete sucker for embroidery thread.

Last year my local Hobbycraft put all their Anchor threads in the clearance area because, by now, they no longer stock it (WHY?!!! *sob*). Needless to say, I bought more than a few. A ordinary skein is typically less than £1, but these were something daft like 10p each. After restocking my most used colours, it would have been rude not to introduce some new threads into my palette.

Winding the threads onto bobbins can be a bit dull and laborious, and I noticed this morning that I still had 7 to do. And they look beautiful when they're stored in shade order. Anchor threads have some amazing saturated colours and the thread itself is soft to handle - they make DMC seem a bit cheap (I have no doubt there are people who feel the complete opposite). And I say that as someone who has quite a sizeable collection of DMC threads.
