Belgium Day 2: Chocolate Making

Absolutely outstanding birthday!

Mr C had arranged a chocolate making workshop, which was good fun, tasty and a surprising workout with the amount of tapping required to eliminate air bubbles.

After a general wander around the pretty cobbled streets we found a crowded lively old school pub with hundreds of beer choices. I discovered that raspberry beer is a bit too sweet but sour cherry can stay. Then warm fuzzy feelings when I checked my birthday fundraiser and it had nearly reached the target. I feel so happy that the slightly scary step into my next deade has done something positive.

Then the best meal I've ever eaten at Patrick Devos, a tasting menu that ended up as 12 plates of food! I don't think it's possible to describe it all in words. Man, I love eating.

New food: scrimp croquettes, beach crab cappuccino, pickled and seared cod, roots: crosnes, oca, oat and parsley, calamansi fruit.
