Layover: Istanbul

Turkish Airlines is pretty amazing; if you have a long enough layover in Istanbul, their customers get to go on a free sightseeing tour around the city. 

I only had time for the shortest tour (roughly three hours) but it was really nice to get to leave the airport between flights and see at least some parts of the city. The guide recommended spending four to five days in Istanbul. Maybe that will be my next trip.
