Sharp Stick

A chunk of today was spent wrestling with a drain. I neglected to take a photo of it before I got to work, but at one end it was sitting up a good inch and a half above the bricks. Very obvious; looked like crap; been there for ages; I'd given it a bit of a push and a prod and thought fixing it up to be impossible with what I could bring to bear.

Today I got the tools: a trowel, two screwdrivers, a mallet...

And a sharp stick:

The stick was surprisingly pivotal. Hence the photo. And I liked the texture on the split surface too.
