The great egret was deep in thought.

"You don't need to hear this anecdote...
but what if I could get a boat?"

"I get all choked deep in my throat...
just thinking about having a boat."

"If I could captain my very own boat...
I could probably earn a treasury note."

"How do you think it would make me feel...
if I could get behind that wheel?"

"With a pole or two and my own creel...
just give me a chance to steer that wheel!"

"If I could learn to command the wheel...
I'd supply us egrets with many a meal."
