....on a great big sled......

Up early and out to see the boys this morning....don't know why....there's no fishing this weekend....everything is frozen solid. We had a coffee and a chat.

A quiet afternoon at home...warm and cosy. The Boss, the S & H, YH and Charlotte had gone car hunting. They found one....and they're picking it up on Friday. The youngsters have bucked the Kia trend and gone for a Ford.

While they were out I had visitors....a couple of my hockey coaches from a few years ago when we ran the most successful junior club in the North of England. There's a double 50th party planned for early April.....it'll be a good night...it always is when we all get back together.

The family arrived home all rosy cheeked and hungry so I knocked up sweet and sour chicken with spicy vegetables and noodles...it looked so good I almost blipped it....but I couldn't resist this shot of Charlie in the snow.

Just before we sat down to eat the phone rang....it was my dad with bad news....the last of my Mum's siblings....my Aunt Josie...passed away around 4.30 this afternoon. She'd been ill for a while and truth be told I hadn't seen her for quite a while....but it's like the end of an era...that generation of that side of the family gone...now there's just my Dad and Uncle Dennis left.

So a little sad this evening...the youngsters have gone home, the daughter has gone out....just me and the Boss and a bottle of wine thinking about times past...and watching TV.

No doubt I'll be up and out again in the morning to meet the boys...look at the frozen lakes....drink some coffee and then home to watch the United game.

This rock 'n' roll lifestyle is killing me!

Das vidanya moy padruga.
