Meeting went well
A delightful cohort of people turned up for the meeting Saturday morning, and they took wonderfully to the Augusto Boal "sculpture" exercise in which they create an image with their bodies of how "the problem" (each group chose one to work on) is now, and how it would be in a possible world. Then they plot the steps necessary to get from the first sculpture to the second. This group chose as their possible world an image of community, support, and sharing to replace the current world of oppression and dominance. Sue made a number of photos of the meeting, and I'm glad I got this one of her group.
In the afternoon I had a lengthy photoshoot at a combined memorial and rally for Aaron Campbell, a young man killed by police ten years ago. His parents and children attended the memorial, and his mother spoke, saying, "We're not doing enough. We are not being heard. Police are still killing our children." The Extras are an image of his mother and father, Marva Davis and John Davis, and one of John that I find particularly moving.
