Tools of the Trade
An emergency blip as very little opportunity to take photos today. This shows my course, compass (designed to have a steady needle) and my SIAC which will register my visit to a control without physically having to touch it. The end of the SIAC flashes to show I have registered my visit and this is downloaded to a computer after the finish.
Despite enjoying my meal last night I did not have the best of sleeps. I also felt the effects of running yesterday. However I was running a shorter course so tried to keep focused as I started. The early controls meant encountering brambles...not my favourite and the running felt hard work. A couple of mistakes and being an early starter I felt later starters would benefit. So was rather surprised to be second, albeit by a second, behind an M45 running out of their class.
We were soon on the way home. Richard took the first shift. Just as well as I fell asleep! Then I took over at half way. Good to share the driving especially when tired. Fortunately it was a trouble free run apart from the spray from rain.
Enjoyed our weekend and good to run on tussock free terrain after last week!
