BIG DAY....
.... yes "the Land Downunder" celebrated Australia Day today - and what a great day. Quite warm out here but not too bad along the coast. Plenty of things happening, so thought I should do a little composite of a scene along the mighty Hawkesbury River. The cows were cooling off in the dam, with some help from the Pelican and many other birds.
I added the nearby typical country Aussie windmill, the Kangaroos, the flag and a Kookaburra flying by! Just for fun.
So, why not get a drink or a cuppa to celebrate with us, put the speakers up and watch my fav You Tube.... here by Men at Work... "I came from a Land down under" - got to be one of the all time iconic Aussie songs.
But, this one not bad either - especially the pics have listen/look here.
Thanks to Pelorus Jack for reminding me!
And to cap off the day our Tennis hero at present No1 Women's player Ash Barty not only won through to the Quarter finals of the Australian Open Tennis comp, she was also named " Young Australian of the year 2020" here.
After all this fun, called by the Lagoon and found this pair of Masked Lapwings enjoying the sun, while Pacific Black Duck hid in the shade of a willow tree.
A top day all round.... Aussie Aussie Aussie!
Enjoy and have a look in LARGE
