Empty beds

I got moved lunchtime out of my cosy single ward into a “four-bedder” because they needed it for a man( thank goodness they don’t go for mixed wards here).
At first I thought it would be quite entertaining to have company and swop medical stories except two got sent home this afternoon. One woman only had her operation on her ankle yesterday and could barely hop on her zimmer.
How long will these beds remain empty?
