What a place!

A leisurely day in Plett. We wandered the main street and did a few things, then headed back to our place and the shade. A warm, sunny day. One of us went onto the beach and one of us stayed on the patio and read. My blip would have been a Cape Wagtail (see extra) who kept me company. But then in the early evening we went to:

Barringtons
This is a place that appears to have taken Plett by storm. After waxing lyrical about it, our hostess booked us in for tonight. It is only a few streets away from where we are staying,  but we decided a taxi was in order.

We arrived and were totally blown away - what a place! Imagined, conceived and built from nothing, it is like walking into a different world. The long drive is lined with vegetable and herb beds, then seating and fountains and flowers. Then you arrive - it is a huge space, more than just a restaurant. Food was delicious, service excellent, ambiance fantastic, cost very reasonable indeed. All open to the evening sky and yet undercover. How to have the vision, the courage, the wherewithal, to build such a place. Fantastic!

I took this photo quickly as I turned round before getting into the waiting taxi. Magical.
