Married!
What a wonderful day we had at the wedding of one of Eubers' nieces. A real fusion of cultures and traditions, yet one strong faith. Such a happy celebration at the church where vows were exchanged, prayers said and songs sung. Eubers and his brother sang in four-part harmony during the signing of the register too!
I was struck with how few weddings are seen by the general public these days. This one took place in the middle of Glasgow so it was lovely to see shoppers stop to look on, smile or approach the happy couple with words of congratulations, then carry on with their business in town. Buses passed by and people stretched their necks to get a good view out of the windows and taxi passed, tooting horns.
Onwards to the reception.... After not having quite recovered from Thursday's wild night of bhangra dancing, I hadn't quite factored in that there would also be ceilidh dancing prior to more bhangra!!! Guess the idea is you dance till you drop - what ever age you are! Enjoyed the amazing dance off between the groom's side and bride's side during the evening too.
I loved this traditional shot of confetti being thrown as the bride and groom emerged from the church as a married couple for the first time. I think one of Eubers' other nieces took this photo - she was in the right place, at the right time).
An amazing day, where we met so many genuinely, lovely people.
