Amazing what you find on the slopes of Carn Ingli near Newport in Pembrokeshire - if it's not redstarts, it's giant snow cats. The dogs were clearly impressed and sat on best behaviour...

We tromped the hill there en route to the wonderful Theatr Mwldan in Cardigan - our favourite venue for film, theatre and music. Watched Salman Rushdie's Midnight's Children - excellent and powerful and not to be missed. We have postponed Les Mis to Thursday.

On the way home heard about the tragic climbing accident in Glen Coe so quickly phoned my middle daughter who was out in the hills of Scotland today. Fortunately she answered the phone and had been in the Pentland hills, but nevertheless there is sad news heading to a number of families tonight...
