Johnny the jig

This statue, known as "Johnny the jig" stands beside a small children's playground in Holywood Co Down. The sculpter Sophia Rosamond Praeger, (1867 – 1954) was an Irish artist, sculptor, illustrator and writer.  She was born in Holywood, Co Down
The background to the piece was the tragic road death of a young boy scout called Fergus, who was killed crossing a nearby road while doing bob a job.
