Fionne and I are ready... better late than never!

I've just discovered the 1000 mile challenge and jumped at the chance to enlist, as I've been looking for some personal challenges to engage in for the year. This will do for starters. 

Any ideas for something more strenuous would be gratefully received. I was thinking a long distance walk such as the Coast to Coast via Hadrian's Wall but to join a group is about £700! I've never had a walking partner but rather than join a group, it may be safer to do it with someone.
