Boy band

Dr Chacko took us to his rice fields and we saw this boy band in the yard of the school where Dr Chacko’s wife works. They were celebrating the school’s123rd anniversary. The boys were keen to have their photos taken as always. The rice paddies were interesting. The surrounding coconut trees were being tapped for toddy which becomes 6% proof after 24 hours then tastes like coconut vinegar I am told. The women workers were taking a rest and we sat with them for a while in the shade of the trees. They are on government rates of 271 rupees a day, around £2.70.
