Old fashioned chimney pots.

I have yet to find a book on the history of chimney pots, but I would think these are Victorian, as are many of the houses in Rishton.
I had a good walk with my camera, and took photos of trees and local beauty, but I liked this shot best, because it has a sense of functional sustainable design and historical interest on this milder but grey skied Wednesday. As more people buy solar panels these iconic chimney pots could well be re used as useful garden planters. They look beautiful with trailing ivy and geraniums.
