The challenge set by KangaZu (thanks Peggy) - "something I appreciate"

I have a lot in my life that I appreciate but I think it all started with being born!    
Two loving parents, four loving grandparents and a decent start in life with lessons in what's right and wrong!     
All those people are now gone but I appreciate the legacies (not monetary) that they left me.
