Eagle and Child
Tuesday 21st January 2020
Caught up with a friend who I haven't seen since before Christmas. We had lunch together and celebrated Christmas again with an exchange of gifts.
This evening I was a guest at the Men's Fellowship for a meal (not good planning twice in one day so I did have a light lunch!). The meal was followed by a speaker who told some of the curious stories of Merseyside. I found it fascinating. One of the stories was how the Eagle and Child became the crest of the Earl of Derby and therefore why a lot of pubs are called that round here. We have one in this village and I didn't have a blip so I grabbed this quick one on the phone of the way home.
