Today we hosted a large group of children from St Andrew's, Wickford .... a great school and a great day. And I bumped into Jean who popped in to say hi. I've know Jean for quite a while, she is the newly appointed children's and families minister at the Cathedral. And I also bumped into a gentleman who stayed a while to sit and think and pray. He told me he had lived rough, outside the Cathedral, for 18 months, and whilst living rough he came each day to pray. He now has his own home and, in his own words, has more good days than bad and often comes back to be thankful. He said the Cathedral was his home and without it he would be long dead. There's hope.
