The seven hour flight to Dubai disappeared rather quickly as we snatched all but a few minutes sleep. How ever many times we fly we don't seem to manage much more than that but still Dubai welcomed us with open arms and we started our long trek to gate C2 where we arrived nearly an hour later. It's such a huge airport. Unfortunately there was not enough time for a morning Prosecco in the lounge so we ended up sharing a cup of coffee at Starbuck's opposite the gate.
Once on board the plane left Dubai and arrived in Durban on time. On exiting customs we expected to see our prebooked taxi man waving a Belcher sign but there was no trace of him. So we grabbed some Rand from the ATM and made our way to the tourist information desk where the friendly man arranged an Uber taxi for us. The taxi arrived in seconds and whisked us to our guesthouse. The first words from our host were when did you arrive as he had been waiting for us at the airport but without a sign and with five hundred passengers arriving at the same time it's a mystery how he thought we would recognise each other. Anyway he let us settle in and then kindly drove us to get an Indian takeaway and some supplies for tomorrows breakfast as unfortunately the guesthouse is nowhere near the shops.
We ate our huge takeaway in the kitchen area of our room and afterwards we were glad to fall into bed.
