Berneray
After the horrors of yesterday, it was good to see the sun again. We celebrated by going to Berneray and strolling on the machair there. always spectacular.
These old houses have been resotred over the last ten years - we even looked at them for ourselves - and now look stunning in the landscape. It is a shame that there aren't more. That said I think they are too small for me to live in permanantly - great for a holiday let.
Our second celebration was dropping in to the pub on the way home before checking the whale hadn't moved. It had moved - not I hasten to add through a process of resurrection but due to the tides.
Tomorrow there could be a team from the mainland crossing to perform a post-mortem and to take the skeleton away.
