Grand Day Out

Earlyish start under bright blue skies.
Trains through glorious countryside to the Lakes to visit with @Spots.

Delicious lunch - warm home made cheese scone with onion marmalade and melted brie in a community cafe full of dogs, babies and glowing outdoor types.

A drive down to silvery Ullswater and a short wander in the eye-watering breeze, felt cold enough for snow.  Captivated by a rescue helicopter scouring the snowy peaks and valleys for a looong time as early dusk crept in.

Hard to leave the glory and the jeopardy.  When the ‘'copter eventually landed (hopefully having located the casualty) the cold drove us back to Spots’ fireside.

A rich afternoon of easy, heartfelt, open, intimate conversation.  SUCH a pleasure.  SO precious.

Glasgow Central was full of bare blue-toned thighs tottering on glittering six inch heels.  Saturday night all right.  Transfixed by the bag pictured I stalked a Goth onto the train and asked for a pic.  I’ve never done that before.

She was a big girl, her companion had the build and air of a bulldog.  She had the sweetest softest voice and stripped off layers unasked to display her ink.  They were on their way to see Slipknot.  Trigger warning!  Don’t click if  you don’t enjoy outrage.

This is the furthest from home I’ve been since my retreat a month ago.  I felt like a new lamb - eyes and heart full of awe and wonder.  Thank you my friend for your company and kind hospitality.  A joy of a day.
