Drop your shoulder . . .
Up the hill this morning and saw these two biking ladies being coached by a third woman. Sometimes she videoed them on her phone so they could see how they did.
One thing I like about our hill is the range of plantings. In the background is the start of a small stand of Redwoods. They are probably thirty years old and it is like an enchanted wood walking through them in the deep shade. On the left is native trees. Just poking into the frame on the lower left is a row of oak trees. The variety of plantings appeals to me. At the top of the frame the track gets steep as it heads to the pylons.
This afternoon we helped Annabel and Robert move plants in pots to their new whare/house as we say. They sold their house in our street in a week so if I wanted to sell that is good but I don't. I will miss having them one house down but we will still be friends and will just have to drive one suburb over. A has fibromyalgia and her house in our street was on three levels and she needed to think ahead to when stairs would be a problem. Who would have thought we would get to the stage of thinking about future proofing our homes?
